VGM Group, in partnership with the Waterloo Community Foundation, has awarded six $1,500 scholarships to dependents of VGM Group employee owners. This year’s recipients are:
- Abigail Jensen, Dike-New Hartford High School
- Daughter of Nicole Jensen, VGM & Associates
- Anna Brodahl, Cedar Falls High School
- Daughter of Eric Brodahl, HOMELINK
- Aubree Land, Sumner-Fredericksburg High School
- Daughter of Sara Land, VGM Insurance
- Aubrey Sadler, Grundy Center High School
- Daughter of Jason Sadler, Corporate IT
- Kali Aldrich, Grundy Center High School
- Daughter of Breana Aldrich, HOMELINK
- Landon Cody, Dowling Catholic High School
- Son of Toye Cody, Two Rivers Marketing
“We do what we can to support our employee owners—and that includes supporting their loved ones,” said Sara Laures, VGM Group Chief People Officer. “It’s always an honor that we can help these young adults start their professional career journeys and make an impact in the workforce.”
Annually, VGM awards multiple $1,500 scholarships to high school senior employee owners or high school senior dependents of current employees who have a minimum 3.0 GPA and are pursuing a post-secondary education. While many applied, only six were chosen with assistance from the Waterloo Community Foundation. Selection criteria included involvement in their community, extracurricular activities, letters of recommendation, and personal essays.
“For seven years, we’ve been proud to partner with VGM Group to help make a difference for the next generations,” said Erin Tink, Waterloo Community Foundation Executive Director. “Any part that we can play in helping these students achieve their post-high school dreams is a reward in itself. We thank VGM for our continued partnership to make this scholarship possible.”
