NewsVGM Insurance Wraps Up Quarter Century of Caring Campaign


To celebrate our twenty-fifth anniversary in 2015, VGM Insurance Services created the Quarter Century of Caring Campaign as a way to give back and thank our customers, members, affiliated insurance agents and other partners for all the good they do in their communities. The goal of the campaign was to expand the reach of our own corporate giving and local volunteer projects to benefit charities nationwide – to touch the lives of people in need not only in our own community, but all across the country.

As part of the campaign, we asked our customers, affiliated insurance agents, members and other partners to nominate their favorite charity to win $1,000. We asked them to share what their chosen charity does and who it serves, the relationship they or their company has with the charity, and why the charity is in need of the donation. We also asked nominators to upload optional photos or videos to support their nomination. We originally planned to give away $25,000 to 25 winners, but due to the large number of compelling nominations we received, our selection committee made up of VGM Insurance employees ended up selecting a total of 27 winners, bringing the total yearly donation amount to $27,000.

As a result of the Quarter Century of Caring Campaign, wheelchair accessible playground projects were completed, baseball uniforms and supplies were purchased for children with special needs, camps, sports activities and therapeutic riding programs were put on for children with physical disabilities and prosthetic limbs, hospice services were given to families free-of-charge, special events were organized for children with rare and life-threatening diseases, and the list goes on. The number of lives that were impacted across the nation as a result of the campaign was incredible.

And to top it all off, 27 of our customers, members, affiliated agencies and their staff members were able to personally deliver a $1,000 check to their favorite local charity to continue their support. Providing them with opportunity to directly impact the lives of those in need in their own backyards was one of the greatest gifts of all. Many of these businesses and agencies are already heavily involved in local charity projects, so providing them with the means to make even more of a difference was an extremely rewarding experience for our team. Many of the selected charity winners rely solely on individual donations to continue their work, so the knowledge that our Quarter Century of Caring Campaign has helped these charities continue benefiting others for months and years to come is wonderful.

VGM Insurance believes in the philosophy outlined by John David Mann in the book ‘The Go-Giver’, where he states: “Your true worth is determined by how much more you give in value than you take in payment.” We believe that our many small contributions as part of the Quarter Century of Caring Campaign helped to make a big, long-term impact in the lives of many people all across the United States.
