Associates of VGM Group, Inc., celebrated the inaugural Founders’ Day on Thursday, Sept. 3. The celebration marked the 29th anniversary of VGM and was highlighted by lunch, a trivia contest and a fundraiser for a local charity.

The founding of VGM started with Van Miller’s vision to create a group purchasing organization for independent home medical providers. However, it took the respect, trust, and start-up money from two friends, John Deery Jr. and Jim Walsh, for the vision to become reality. On Sept. 3, 1986, VGM & Associates incorporated and upon achieving their 200th member, the first manufacturer signed and the rest is history. Today VGM has more than 2,500 HME members with locations throughout the country.

VGM Associates were treated to a grab-n-go lunch that featured walking tacos. VGM Group, Inc., has more than 20 divisions, the majority of which are dedicated to the HME industry, and is a 100 percent employee-owned company.
